  • You can now volunteer a machine to be a server (rather than having to type in the server name on each machine).
Changes when acting as a server include:
    • Deleting or trashing pending messages from the sent folder on the server now causes them to be returned to the sender instead of just deleted.
    • Return receipts and control mail are now invisible except on the server, but they are marked as such in the subject column of the message list.
    • Mail is automatically deleted from a server's sent folder after it is forwarded to its destination.
    • Servers will pass user name lists to other computers. Users will be marked with a yellow dash (instead of as "on" or "off") if they are only "visible" via a server.
    • You can now choose whether you want all mail to be forwarded directly to a server, or to be sent to the server only if the intended recipient is not available, which is the default behavior.
  • Messages and templates now include icons which can be selected from the icon list above the OutBox. When creating templates in the Edit Templates window you can "grab icons" from the screen, or simply copy and paste them into the icon image well. The keyboard equivalents cmd-1-cmd-9 can now be used to select the first 9 templates.
  • Changes to the message list column widths are now saved.
  • All entries in the log window are now time-stamped

  • The message list now has contextual menus for the various message commands as well as setting message status.
  • SnapMail can now connect up multiple networks behind NAT firewalls (i.e. cable & DSL modems). Simply volunteer one computer as a server in each network, and add the static IP address of the external NAT firewalls into the TCP/IP scanning list of each server. Then set up the NAT firewalls to forward all incoming SnapMial packets to the server on it's network. The servers will automatically handle passing around the user lists from each network.
  • You can now select users from the user list by tabbing to the user list box and typing.
  • You can now hide users from appearing in the main user list.
  • Added in message count text at the top of the InBox.

  • The default port number for SnapMail is now the newly assigned IANA port number for the SnapMail protocol: 3762. If you were running SnapMail on the old default port number (3484) SnapMail will automatically switch to the new port number. • Fixed a bug that prevented scanning for users via Rendezvous.

  • Fixed a problem that could cause delayed mail.

  • Choosing factory defaults in the networking window now replaces the default port number rather than appending on to the current value.
